The current ident shows hippos swimming round in a circle. This is to continue the theme of the circle or a globe which has been the symbol of the BBC from the very first ident. All through the years the globe has appeared in every BBC ident shown in different and clever forms. There are a number of Christmas idents over the years which have continued the circle theme with a Christmas flavour. For example, there have been large snowballs, snowflakes, snowmen and penguins skating is a circle all of which embody the round theme. The font has always been in capitals and bold to be easily read and recognised. The circular ident is also used for the other BBC channels like BBC2 BBC3 and BBC4. The circle could also show the BBC is a trustworthy channel with evolving news and information.

we have been looking at dave idents and we made our own. i thought it went really well. We ran out of shots because our minds were wandering so we did shots that were not on our story board which was not that well put together because it was just random.

On the 19/10/10 I evaluated Harry's ident looking at www and ebi. his ident was on bbc HD channel. he had a definition and a link to show where he got it from. He had added images but i could not find a link to an embedded video. www he had a nice background colour which was consistent on every slide. his font was clear and in a colour which constrasted well with the background so it was easy to read. he had a number of pictures to illustrate the ident of his chosen channel. an ebi would be to have found a video to embed in his work.

I was away on Tuesday 28th September so I did not do the stationary animation but I have read what every one else did so I have caught up with what I have missed.

what went well on the short story:
Harry and I worked well as a team. We had different strengths which we used. I'm good at drama so I did most of the acting and Harry is very good on the technical side so he did most of the filming. We filmed at different locations round school so there was a varied background and this helped to push the action along. I was late to school and I was angry because I was told to see the headteacher so I was walking round school in a rage. we used a variety of shots in the film like long shot, medium shot and close up.
even better if:
It would have been better if we had exchanged jobs so Harry could have acted and I could have filmed. This would have given us a more rounded experience of the task.
